Milo is an ordinary child who thinks life is terribly boring—until one day he discovers a mysterious tollbooth in his room. With nothing better to do, he jumps into his toy car, drops in a token, and zooms off to the Lands Beyond!

There he meets Tock, a protective watchdog, and the Humbug, an opportunistic bug. Together they tumble through a world where words and numbers come to life, where whether matters more than weather, and where banishing Rhyme and Reason has thrown everything completely out of whack.

Sent on a daring mission by warring brothers King Azaz of Dictionopolis and the Mathematician of Digitopolis, Milo must travel to the Castle in the Air to save the Princesses and restore harmony to the Kingdom of Wisdom.
